I currently own a mk4 supra N/A and my insurance is killing me on anything that is an import (I prefer import over UK models though), My insurance was £1000 when I first bought the supra (I was 23) im now 26 and they want more than 2 grand off me. Most companys want over 7k or wont insure me because of the area I live.

Basically Im looking at a UK model car next and the Z is one car I need to own at some point in my life. Again I would normally go for the import version but its not an option now.

I have three questions......

1, Which year is the best model to buy? I would prefer atleast 94 model.

2, Could someone either tell me or show me a link to where it list the differences between the UK and import model? I want to know if the UK model is not as good?

3, How likely and how much would it cost to get a UK, 94+, TT, manual, LWB model for with less than 100k miles and in good condition?

Ive been looking on pistonheads but not seen on that would do for me, I dont want the SWB version.

Yeah that link shows my manchester postcode is a high crime zone, Kearsley in bolton is where my mum & dad live & like you said its not on the list. Im pretty sure it will be high crime zone again as thats what insurers have told me in the past.

EDIT: I wouldnt mind but half the reason you pay insurance is for if you hit a someone else's car or someones property, where as your own car comes back a right off (if its an old car anyway). Its like they are ripping you off for the car you drive however if something happens your insurance pays out for the other persons car and your own car gets written off, ive heard of a few examples where cars get written off for the slightest of damage.

good thinking yowser, I'm 28, no NCB, (did have, but they took it all off me because i went travelling and didn't insure a car for 2 years) 92' JDM TT, can't get below about 1200 quid, haven't tried classic yet tho, think the area i live in is pretty nice tho? I might see if I can find a list of the best areas :)

I had a similar problem after having a company car for a couple of years - try going back to your original insurer (or maybe through a broker?) they did reinstate mine in the end...

have tried mate, not happening, and because of it, I've had to be a named driver for 3 years and gained jack diddly shit NCB.... piss pants poor, just gotta get the first year out way, and grin and bare it, and take one for my country as they pull down my pants and blatently pokey pokey bum **** gang rape me. turds.
