Having a few strange moments with it at the moment.

VMTP have outlets in the midlands and Middlesex have used the Midland one many times do a top job of flushing, pumping cleaning fluid through whole system ie. cooler, box and torque convertor also change filter re-fill and includes additive to help the multi solenoid operation.

Cost between £100 and £140 dependant on how much cleaning fluid they need to use (average 20 litres)they actually reccomend this every 12 months with the Zed!

UK TT Manual Project

Belts all done, gearbox and diff oil changed which has helped the noise in my gearbox. Still there but certainly quieter. Will see how it develops.
Changed the oil and filter last night and the air filters too.
When driving back from garage it was good, no smoke. When sat idling, it started to smoke but only seemingly from the drivers side bank and only when it started to warm up.
Hopefully it’s stuck PCV valves. Could be turbo oil seals as well but I’m just hoping not as I’ve already spent a lot on this car 😂
Time to do some driving though I think! I’ll take it out for a long run next week and see how we go. Properly get it up to temperature

REAR BRAKE CALIPER PREP BEFORE SANDBLASTING
Before starting the sandblasting process on the rear brake caliper bodies, I needed to properly mask and protect a few critical areas. In particular, the hydraulic piston bores and the internal brake fluid channels or ports must be shielded from blasting media to avoid damage.

My approach was straightforward. I used masking tape to seal off the two fluid channels that allow brake fluid to pass between each half of the caliper. For the hydraulic piston bores, I inserted a dense foam material to fully block off the openings and prevent any abrasive media from contacting the internal aluminum surfaces.

After about an hour of work, all the necessary areas were sealed and protected. The foam inserts worked particularly well for the piston bores, creating a snug barrier. For the fluid ports, I used a simple but effective technique—lightly tapping around the edges with a hammer—to cut perfectly shaped circles out of masking tape for a precise fit.

That’s as far as I got for the month of July. Progress may have been limited, but it’s a solid step forward. The next stage will be to begin sandblasting the calipers, which I’m aiming to tackle soon.

Small progress this month: I prepped the two dismantled rear brake calipers for the next stage in the restoration process, masking and protecting key areas before I will then be sandblasting them back to bare metal in the next month.
