Belive it or not i love gardening, Heres a list of some low maintinenece plants /shrubs that i have in the garden, Bamboo, flame of the forest, conifers, Phormium, pampas, clematis, iris, hostas, Dalihas are nice but need digging up before winter sets in, Feed your grass 3/4 times a year and get a decent mower to put some strips in

Daz, I think we might be kindred spirits lol. But NO bamboo. It Will just overtake everything!! It gets everywhere and cannot be stopped.

HAHAHA. now who's gay:rofl:

Lol, gay?? nowt gay about gardening you queer:wink: its a mans job, I love sitting in my hand made hot tub at the back of the garden looking at my garden and tugging under the bubbles, lol

Ha , its funny you should say that, as next door has a gardener and he asked me to take my bamboo down last week??? i told him to FOOK OFF!!! he says it gets out of control, I said so does my car but i know how to handle it mate, he soon fooked off mowing the grass:tt2:

If you start getting a bit interested, like you sound you might be, go to a charity shop and buy a gardeners encyclopidia, thay are about £35-£50 for a good one in most garden centres, but about £2 2nd hand in the charity shops, deffo a bargain and loads of info for looking after your plants, saying that this winter had killed a load of my plants so its not done me much good, but i now have a harvest of last years plants growing in my greenhouse. I find gardening very therapeutic, roll on summer

if it looks anything like this im there mate:)

im terrible at looking after anythin in the garden i had our side garden looking really nice at one point but now needs work again. to be honest think it needed a few more plants and things that could be just left to grow and a few things dotted around that need looked after. getting my driveway done and decking and pond finished then going to start the more decorative stuff

this is how far i got the back last year

I must apologize to Del for going off topic with his gardening thread, sorry mate

roses and lavender bushes to start with

only have to sort them out once a year

and they look pretty

so long as the ground is fairly peaty you can plant some heathers in there ....they will look after themselves they come in all kinds of colours and smell nice ......also sprinkle some bulbs in there for crocus and snowdrops and dwarf daffodils , they will just multiply year after year and need no maintenenace other than to thin them out every now and again ...self seeding flowers are good for splashes of colour through the year , poppies , marigolds, etc dont forget to plant things with different heights, and in lots of 3 or 5

Actually I get what Daffy was saying now about Bamboo, you wanted plants that were "easy maintinece", well Bamboos are easy as you just let them grow and grow and never need to water/feed them ect, but they do need digging out from time to time as they are rampant growers and will take over if left unattended!! so I will change my mind on that, they are NOT easy maintinence :crying:, CheerZ Daffy

also you can say the same thing about Pampas!!,lol, so dont listen to me Del, lol
