Burnt out TCU

Just for info, here`s a pic of the inside of the TCU (time control unit).. until yesterday I didnt know what it did and didnt know where it was, well it controls the dash lights and various other functions and its situated in the drivers footwell behind the cover panel, My dash lights and the pod illumination were out, I looked inside the tcu box and the pcb was burnt out in 1 small area, pics below:thumbup1:

So have you sorted the track now?

Thanks mate, no , Luckily I had one from my breaker and all working again now, but it looks an easy fix, i assume i will just need to link a small wire from 1 solder nib to the next following the track?

Yes use a fine strand wire, from the triac to the resistor, so you are forgetting the track now and just making the contact between the two points. Make sure though the section of wire between the two points is insulated

spot on Graham, thanks for all your tips mate :winkiss:

No worries mate, glad you got it sorted. Also get some contact cleaner and spray the board, youve got some oxidisation in places on the board, that can create problems in the future.
