Hi. A welder has just out in my rear screen. I now need to sort a replacement. (just for fun-Autoglass = £2100 for bronze or £1200 for blue)

 

Does anyone have any perpex options? (I would prefer this)

 

or by luck is there someone with a spare rear screen (or hatch I suppose) going? fingers crossed.

Why do people chose Auto-ripoff-glass, google windscreen glass replacement, there are VERY cheaper options out there.

 

Autoglass said £700 to replace my windscreen on my breaker, i got one from a different company for £216 fitted.

 

Also, why are you replacing the screen, they should so i wouldnt worry too much about price.

i said i dunno why people bother with Autoglass. (i did see the just for fun part) i was commenting on why anyone in there right mind would want to go with them, and was enhancing the reasons why, from your orignal post with my experience of them as well.

 

Now if you took it a completely different way to how i said it. sorry about that. but unfortunately text on a screen doesnt seem to convey how it was meant to of been said.

 

Also, as you stated a welder did it. yes i naturally assumed you mean when you were getting body paneling done, now had you said "a mate who can weld accidental did it" i wouldn't of had to assume anything :tt2:

Simplest option would be to get a complete Tailgate from a breaker, in same colour as yours. Typically looking at about £150, but with a lot less labour to replace.

My thoughts exactly, even if a different colour it could be sprayed to your liking for far less!

Hi ya mate if you get stuck you can have my UK rear tailgate but you would have to wait a few weeks as my rust free replacement is being smoothed and painted

sure we have ant_300zx old screen here its got some da makes in it from an earlier bodyshops repair but sure he wouldnt mind givin it away to get it out my workshop try pm ing him

Hiya mate, because its a frieind of a friend its been on the back burner as they have been very busy with insurance work so thats taken priority,they have said 2 weeks sorry mate im itching to get it sorted aswell.Understand if you cant wait.
