is this a lengthly process to have them removed or changed? need mine doing as the lower arm is bent, but cannot get garage time at all this week, everywhere is booked.

also is it quiet straight forward and how long should it take, only doing one side so tie/track rod. then tie/track rod end?

Featured Replies

Is it just the trackrod end you need changing or the tie rod as well .The rod end is easy break the lock nut on on the tie rod arm .Then undo nut on the track rod end ball joint this may have a plit pin in some have nyloc nuts. Then get a ball joint breaker scissor type is best if not use a fork type, fork type will damange the balljoint boot but this wont matter if your changing the joint. Also you only need to crack the joint on the tie rod arm its a good idea to mark the position of the nut with tippex or paint to make sure you get it back in the right place .The rod end should just unscrew from the tie rod .You may need your tracking adjusted after.
