Trying to replace the speed sensor , main bdy is no problem but the connector, well... is it possible to remove and replace with the car on jacks.

The cable connector is held up on the top of the box by bendy metal tabs, getting under far enough to get you hand up there to pull it down is going to be difficult at best especially just on jacks, which you should also use axle stands or something similar, a pit or ramps is so much easier.

Sorry Jeff, i meant Axle stands, "jacks" was a Freudian slip, meaning on the road rather than up on a lift

 

If you think i'm getting under it on car jacks/hydraulics, forget it.

i did say i couldnt find the other end or get my hand up there Rich may be a case of pulling it and see if you can free it from the metal tab it is on :)

Well i cant do anything at the moment, i went down ill on monday....wont be till weekend before i get under her again.

 

How's the engine transplant going.?

Its in and autobox is now hooked up and i started on the electrics today hopefully this weekend should have it running if all my parts turn up.

Hi all,

Replaced the speed sensor with the new one i got, took for test drive, fixed? no...still stays wont change up from 2nd gear. and can only use 1st from the selector, if anyone has any thoughts on this matter, please let me know..

Sounds like a goosed gearbox but. but id get another opinion
