Safety Boost!

I guess this has been posted 1000 times, and I am searching our forum but, my car went into safety boost yesterday.

Can anyone tell me a) what the possible causes are?

b) Will the cause show up on an ECU diag?

and

c) How do I cure it?

Boy, does it feel slow, that's the problem with being spoilt with 300 horses biggrin.gif

Thanks guyz

Tim matey you need to do a quick ecu test, bet you you will get a code 34 det sensor.

If this is the case and a wiring test proves ok then the det sensor has failed and as they are so well buried the most popular way out is to fit a 1 meg resister across the plug to the det sensor, this will fool the ecu into thinking the sensor is ok and full boost will be available.

NOTE The only thing to consider is that the ecu cannot now longer sense detonation and act accordingly.

Hope that helps.

Just leave it in safety boost.

Much better on fuel.

You can't go over 70mph anyway.

You can admire the scenery better on long journeys if you drive slowly.
