Would any of you guys be interested in having this done to your parts..pics below of the finish,Ive been flocking parts for afew year now.Posted parts/courior collected and returned coated to you.The prices would very,very reasonable to members.

Flock is nylon fibres (velvet to touch/suede-ish look)electrostatically charged to 50,000 volts(on my machine) and can be applied to plastic,metal,wood,fabric etc.If you've seen incar footage of rallycars in recent years,you'll have seen dashboards coated in black flock,to prevent dash glare on the windscreen on bright days,but any colour from reds,blues,yellows,greys,purples etc,throught to neon pink,dayglow orange down to pastel brown or powder blues are available,it is aslo great for hiding repairs done to cracked/modified trim.This is a really smart coating for dashboards,consoles,door trims,bass boxes,parcel shelves etc etc.

I (when i get around to finishing my zed!) will be doing the door trim/lower dash/console instead of the horrible grey tweed thats on it now,I know many of you get leather/vinyl trim kits for this,so flocking is another option,its very durable and hard wearing and looks fantastic.Again,Im not offering this,Im just gauging interest,if there is,Ill sign up for making things official.

P.S,very hard to photograph as the flash reflects off the fibres lol,but the parts are actually in deep black(semi-shine) flock,not purple as they look in the pics:thumbup1:

Had a look at this today and was really impressed. Would work really well for getting the boot plastics covered to hide any scuffs and scratches. It would also be perfect for replacing the tweed interior trim parts, especially with the variety of colours available.

sample will be sent tommorrow as i couldnt get to the post office today, sorry... but good things come to those who wait :tt2:

I just finished watching the whole movie online lol,its very chavy!!Mind you ,it was afew year ago..but it wasnt as bad as i though it would be,lol,got better towards the end ,nice capri,but that zed mustve had a micra engine in it,theres no way that lameass sierra would have had any chance otherwise haha!:laugh:

They arrived today bud,will send a snippet of the fabric to my supplier tonight,they have 4 red shades,so Im quite confident theyll have what youre after.Itll be Monday before the black flocked parts are ready.Ill probably drop them off at the courior depot if Im in that area Monday affa,if not you can contact them to arrange a collection,will let you know:thumbup1:

What was the carraige in the end for the boot panels?

I had the swatch ready to send last week, but cant bloody find it now, so im going down my garage in a bit and cut another to send. Cant wait to get this done.

I dunno Graham,Anthony arranged his own carrriage,it wasnt the couriour I have an account with that delivered.I think the boot plastics weigh in at 4kg(in a heavy card,foot and a half by 2foot cubed box)Call 01463715843 to get a quote from them. :)

I got the sample from Daz late last week. Really liked it!! Definitely thinking of getting it done now but getting panels off and sending is going to be a pita!

I would go black for the boot area, at the moment im fitting the series 2 blue/grey velour, if i send you a swatch of material, is it possible to match the colour? I want to keep the seats in that colour.

 

FYI all the plastic trim is removeable on the door cards.

Didn't realise you could mix the colours on one panel! I was also thinking of a black red combination...been googling car interiors to get an idea of what I want it to look like so would be interested to see how the trials come out!

Arrived today, and I must say I'm impressed, looks and feels great. I've got all my boot panels, bar the tailgate off so will deffo have it done. I'll pm you Ady for details. Who wants it next??
