is there any way to tell if the MAF is dodgy, or giving bad readings?

i have done an ECU check, but no MAF sensor problem, and had it on a conzult. but again read ok, (stationary test)

car runs fine, idles a bit high, but is using lots of fuel and seems to be getting worse. was getting 180-200miles to a tank, now its closer to the 160-180 mark.

What is the consult reading for the maf, ie voltage?

Mine was reading higher than it should be which indicates a duff maf, therefore slight overfuelling. Duff O2 sensors will also alter the fueling.

just looked , have no readings data, was just advised they're fine, ECU check shows both 02 seonsors doing as they should though.

Who advised you they are fine? The O2 sensors may not come up as an error code with an ecu check as they may be reading. But reading what, is the key.

I have 2 maf sensors side by side, they both look fine, but one is reading far too high a voltage and therefore is dead lol.

The only real way to see what all the sensors are doing is to get it on consult.

ok may get it down there again, cheers. and it was done by Jeff and Jamie in October 2010

If Jeff put it on a consult and said they were fine then, the readings would have been ok when they checked it in October. Check your temp sensor on the water inlet pipe for green stuff, we have had a lot of rain and snow since then.
