A mate of mine has an s type jag. Just had it mot'd and failed on n/s front tyre. They wouldn't issue the mot until tyre was changed.

It has a standard jaguar issue locking wheelnut. To get it off the garage mullered the alloy by whacking the wheelnut with a cold chisel!!! They insist it's a vehicle specific locking nut and jag will need a chassis number to order a new one and it'll cost a hundred odd quid. Surely this is wrong? Any ideas, help appreciated.

Thanks Andy. Any way of loaning one? As he wants to do away with them entirely. Like he says, it's pretty rare to see cars on bricks with the wheels having been nicked these days!!
