But we don't live in the States or Oz, so that means sod-all!

What an intellectual answer, jesus.Ignoring you obviously as driving those trains has given you tunnel vision but ANYONE else able to see the bigger picture will see its relavance.

You want to try reading all of my other posts on this thread, and you may learn something, instead of just thinking you're right all the time. Mine is based on fact, market forces and previous information, not blind faith.

And the reason for my short and 'intellectual' answer is because it's a bit pointless repeating yourself, when it gets completely ignored all the time.

On course for the most viewed thread for a while. 2311 views and 184 replies.

And jeff started it.

Its gone way past, what the thread was to start.:wacko:

so give it a few years and the market should pick up it certainly wont go down any more

God, this statement has been banded about for about 10 years, and they are still cheap as chips, mainly because they fall in the wrong hands and end up being liabilities. When you look on Ebay there are so many cars being sold with problems it drags the prices right down. When you see reports on this site where people have bought a car and it turns out to be a right shed, even though it was purchased from a club member / user you can understand the marking down of the marque. Nissan do not help by making the parts so expensive, but worst of all is the people who buy them on a shoestring budget and expect them to take a right thrashing without any proper maintanence, and of course they soon fail. Repairs aint cheap so they end up on Ebay or being a breaker. The word 'supercar' keeps getting mentioned but as always people forget that they need 'super ££££' to keep them that way. The 'items wanted' thread on here tells a story, second discs and pads wanted, shock absorbers, anyone got some head gaskets, plenum gasket, a spare injector ??? that don't look good, in fact it sounds more like a Nova / Corsa / Saxo site, but their car prices are higher that a Zed. Supercars and skint owners are not words that should be used in the same breath. Thats whats keeping the prices down. The Zed is a fab car, I have owned 3 and enjoyed everyone, but they do need £££'s spent on them to keep them fab.

And probably end being locked soon, as it's simply going round in circles....... but I'm not going to lock it

I fail to see what anyone could learn about cars/values from someone whos own fell to pieces around his ears then got parted out for what very little was worth anything.Facts ? whos exactly? and as for market forces, when did they start teaching economics on the railways?

lol its gone well of topic in every way but it was epic just sad it cant be done with out somebody getting personal and being banned, speak your mind guys but keep it friendly and try to do the right thing for other members:yes: time for my old bones to go to bed night all:sleep1:

Why the personal attack on me, run out of debating ability?

Thought i'd stick my 2 peneth in lol

As most of you know ive had one or two zeds!!

Ive paid £10k for one and ive paid peanuts for one and many in between!!

Is the black swb worth £13k?? no not really but then again a friend of mine was quite happy to offer jason £15k for his at jae!! is jasons worth 15k no not really but a car is worth what someones willing to pay for it?

He will need to get someone who falls in love with it to pay that premium but in todays market he will struggle!! i could have had this years ago for £8k i think it was and i seriously thought about it and prices certainly have not gone up so unless its got serious (and not ebay) power under the bonnet then he's got bob hope and no hope and bobs dead!!

Shame as its a lovely car and if it had been at £8k again i think he might have sold it but imho £5k over priced!! you can get a fully built tuned R33 gtr for that kind of outlay and as much as i love zeds i know what i'd buy

Just saw this and its just my opinion I could well be wrong but its what I think and hope I havent upset you just telling it as I see it old zed

im only watching this thread waiting on a big fat :ban: to appear:). lol

I currently don't see any reason to ban anyone, the only thing that'll happen is it'll be locked.

But I'm also going to leave you boys to play.. nicely I hope... as I've got to get some sleep, so i can play trains in the morning!! :sorcerer:

Get up them stairs Dave we need our sleep mate:sleeping:

imho its quite a good thread , seeing peoples views on the zed is a good thing as long as its friendly chat kind of . i also cant understand why zeds in the Uk are the cheapest in europe ? maybe cause they made the uk spec ? .. not sure but theres also uk supras and they're way more expensive hard to understand tbh , i think it has become a trend of zeds being a fairly cheap car.

in portugal a good zed goes for almost 20 thousand euros, about 17k or so . that zed would be considered an absolute bargain at the eyes of zed lovers in europe.

its true we cant change the market but as a club if we price our cars higher and think differently about them, the reality is we wont see so much cheap crap in the long run .

Well, if they were that expensive over here, not many would have them, so probably no demand...

It goes round again.

Lets just enjoy them for what they are for now eh?

Didn't the zed have a problem when it was first sold in the uk in that people were to snobby to believe that Nissan could make a car that was actually good. iirc it was this that stopped production in the UK.

Right, my turn......

If you are a buyer they are all over priced, if you are an owner looking to sell they are way under valued. Doesn't matter if it is a Zed, M5 or whatever, that is human nature.

I like most would put a value on my car that buyers would probably feel is too high (5K). It wouldn't be what i've spent on it as it's not a 10k motor, i know that. But the money i've spent is to get it how i want it. It is not to make money or to get back the outlay.

I agree with you guys that believe they are undervalued though. I don't think it is all the fault of the recession, it's a combination of low disposable income, rocketing fuel and insurance prices and most of all the belief that it's a waiting game for something to go wrong with them.

The educated will maintain them correctly with new quality parts/labour from respected companies/individuals who know their Zeds. Or if you are lucky enough to be that way inclined will save a pretty penny and be able to do the work themselves.

The prices they command are outside of our control, market forces will dictate them. Basic micro economics, supply and demand. However, when good examples come along at premium prices it's not a bad thing. The seller can always lower the price.

I'm not actively looking to buy or sell at the moment so don't look into prices too much. I'm sure if i do come to sell though i'll be gutted!! Just my 2pence worth.

Yes it did the badge! and you could buy a 348 for not much more. Remember when new the uk spec 300zx twin turbo cost over £30k in 1990

I am totally appalled at this thread..

Only one ban last night..

Despite a few grumblings, it failed to kick off big style..

Stellaz wasn't even pissed

Richard failed to strap on his (very attractive) wrestling trunks

And worst of all, we didn't even get to find out whats been done to the motor..

A thoroughly disappointing night - I was even late for work this morning due to stopping up past my bed time:glare:

All in all, about as interesting as an Audrey Harrison fight - I want a refund!

Jeezo.....go to the pub for a night and miss all this!

Time to give up the darts, me thinks! If only every monday night left a thread this epic.

Morning ****ers :D

Blimey I should have switched the computer on last night I could have jumped in with both feet and upped the ban number by one

I think yours is worth more than 5k Daffy :thumbup1:

I think the thing with beemers is it was made as a family car through to a sports car whereas zeds just put out the 2 choices of engine you can get a 1.6 BMW iirc for that reason im not a fan of them either not very exclusive

Two words "Silver Streak"

Look how much Stuart put into that car! in money and blood sweat and tears.

Blood sweat and tears dont come cheap but it makes one hell of a car.

I know i now own her, the amount of money he put into that car [most of it documented in my hands] was amazing, and the end results shows this. The car is a real beast but at the time he put it up for sale no one [inc me] would not pay the price.

He sold it for quite a lot less then he should have done in my opinion because it is always going to be labelled a 6.5k car [or less] and its worth a lot more then that.

But saying that i could not get any interest when i put her up for sale for 6.5!!!

As been said most of us know what our cars are worth but to get it...its a different matter. If the car has good club history and the work well documented its should be worth all the money, but probably only to anouther club owner who knows that particuler car.

But as shown with Silver Streak any body outside the car club would not really know/appreciete what work and money that went into producing that car, so to get good money the car would really have to go to a club member [which it did twice] you would think anyway but it did not:confused:.

So why is it that???? buggerd if i can answer it:tt2:

.....oh and Jane; love the new sig pic. Now how about knocking up a few more cakes and getting yourself to Zedworld on Saturday love......:beta1:
