hello!

how many boost do you think is safe to run in 98 RON (BP, shell etc) for our engines? 1.6 bar (23psi) ? 1.4 (20 psi)?

I put this question because in the other side of the atlantic the max they run in they 93 mon pump is 1.1 bar (17psi).

cheers :gunsmilie:

2.0 bar..

whit a alcool/water injection right? lol

1.0bar is really all a standard engine with standard turbos and standard injectors is good for as far as I am aware. You might get away with 1.1 bar but the turbos tend to be just blowing hot air at that boost and you run huge risk of running lean and det because the injectors cant keep up.

sure, but that is for stock turbos/injectors etc, that is not what i meant to say :whistling:

the question is, if you have bigger turbos and bigger injectors to run it

tks

cant see the problem in running 2 bar with 98 RON loads of supras/skylines/ evo's etc running 2 bar on shell v power and so on . but to run 2 bar on a zed you must have a very very good engine like madmax, MAC1 ( examples ) In my opinion.

Its going to depend on so many variables - injectors, turbo size/type, mapping, engine build etc.

Also remember the US ratings is not comparable to our ratings

looking at your previous post you are running 740's on a 300 degree fuel rail and forged internals with head work , all depends on what tubbies your running on the air flow to the heads and mapping ..to be honest i would go with a switchable map set up low , med and high boost for when you run into a ferrari or porsche ...what BHP are you aiming for Sky ?? in UK bhp please dont go all yank on us and supersize it :)

i´m aiming to get for 600bhp in full boost on this turbos

Our 98 Octane is about equal to the U.S 93 octane.

We use Ron, the other method being Mon. The test methods differ by temperature and load, with Mon considered to be the more reliable test.

The U.S use an average rating of Ron & Mon, called Pon.
