This is a 2+2 targa auto 300zr ? This is basically a z31 with a z32 engine without the turbos.

Yeh I spotted that the other day, It doesnt look like a z32 engine though? more like a 200sx, perhaps it was a prototype, nice though I like it

its not strictly a z32 engine.....yeh, its a VG30de (rather than the older vg30e) , but has the single intake system and a quick google reveals it only makes 190hp, 40hp down on that fitted to the Z32.

Lol dont get me weong im tempted to place a bid but doubt i will, im still saving northwards to get mine sorted and hope to have three figures soon this would be a chunk out of it and i'd probably get distracted with that

I remember someone posting on here some time ago though and was doing a similar set up was trying to look for the thread i dont think its the same one though :/

Lets have a guess how much it will go for!!!!

I reckon £736.51 :online2long:

But I bet his reserve is a lot higher, so probably wont sell

Interesting bit Z31 engine options info here, more on the link below.

Japanese Market Z31s

The Nissan Z31 was released with a choice of five engines in the Japanese domestic market.

The ‘export spec’ naturally aspirated and turbocharged 3.0 litre V6 (VG30E and VG30ET) 300ZX was sold alongside a turbo 2.0 litre V6 (VG20ET) version that was intended to appeal to budget-conscious buyers. These VG20ET Zeds are known as the 200Z, 200ZS and 200ZG.

But more appealing are the 200ZR and 300ZR, which were released in late 1985. The 200ZR is powered by a RB20DET straight-six with a top-mount air-to-air intercooler. The ‘red rocker cover’ RB generates 134kW and only j-u-s-t fits under the bonnet. It’s also the final straight-six powered Zed ever manufactured. Equally as interesting is the 300ZR, which is powered by a naturally aspirated quad-cam 3.0 litre V6 (VG30DE). This engine generates 142kW.

Both the 200ZR and 300ZR are quite rare and collectable.

This car has been touted about for sale for a couple of years.

started off in 2009 at £4995.

was on another site late 2010 at £2500

So dont expect to get it cheap.

IMO its a classic example of the old maxim that "rare doesnt always mean desirable".

ahhhh ok i've not seen it advertised before i do really like the z31 but not as much as the z32, i think if it had some more work body, paint and interior wise it would be a seriously nice motor but would still not reach that 2009 price!

ps: i removed my e-bay link due to to it having contact details present a past external link may contain the same :/ so have ammended your post slightly

So judging by the engine in this one, would a VG30DETT fit in a Z31? I'm after a new home for my spare engine... :D
