Hi guys, as a Z newbie but not to much of a bad hand with motors, i got home this morning just as my headlights and dash lights started to dim, then car started running real bad as i got on to my parking spot then conked out.

 

After investigating i noticed when i put my meter over the batt terminals, i was not getting any charge from the alternator. car will jump fine and run for a little while then again die. so my conclusion is most proberly the bushies but the odd escort or cav wouldnt be a problem, i just about found the alternator on the Z.

 

any body ?? oh by the way, its a Z31 1986.

I seem to be in the same boat, looking for an alternator. My problem is overcharging though and I hav a Z32. Let me know how you get on and I shall do the same.
