January 17, 200224 yr Compression test will check the compression of each cylinder - It is a fairly easy job - no more than changing all the sparkplugs coz that is basically what you do - insert a compression tester into the sparkplug of each cylinder and then crank the engine. What it will tell you is the and indication of the state of the Pistons + Rings, Cylinders and Valves / seats Etc, basically it is a good indication of the internal condition of the engine which can't be visually inspected without a teardown. Nissan reccomends Compression figures should be : TT: 128-171psi NA: 142-187psi Maximum difference across cylinders 14psi If the test does fail you can do further things to see if compression improves to give you and indication of the problem. Enjoy. ------------------ Z ya Nico91TT
