Do you ever just wish you could stop the world for a bit?

AAAAAAAAARRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!

So so fed up

Bloody dark nights means I'm like a pit pony and don't see the light of day any more

Little b@stards smashed my front room window on Sat night because apparently the night before Halloween is "mischief night" (WTF?!)

the Zed was SORNed from Sunday

as for my job offer, they've offered it to me on £2700 LESS than I'm on currently (which is 1 step up from f**k all)

B0ll0cks to everything

Well, at least your zed doesn't have any dents in it....... windows can be replaced and think your self lucky it was the house that is easy to change vs the car that is a bit of a caffle.

Unlucky on the job Jane. but ring them and ask why they are offering it to you at a lower rate than what your currently on?

always look at the positive side of bad fortune. makes it easier to swallow :D anyway BIG hug hun.

Hi Jane

I thought you said they were paying you the same ?....

Thanks both. I know I should count my blessings really, just feeling a bit narked off.

Tony - re the salary, verbally I was promised the same salary I am on - luckily I didn't resign because they have gone back on this and offered me almost £3k a year less :sneaky2:

Thanks for the hug Ian

J

Sorry to hear that Jane.....

Don't let it get you down though.....

Dark evenings do suck; but it's not for too long. Another 7 weeks and the days get longer again after the Winter Solstice.

Windows can be fixed - just call your house insurers. (Never heard of "mischief night" though; must be a local thing to you:confused1:)

As for the job, give them a call and discuss it with them. If they promised to match your current salary then show them what you earn now. If they want you as opposed to another candidate then they will pay you. Don't be fobbed off by excuses like employers have the upper hand due to the recession; nonsence! A lot of employers are recruiting once more and if they want the right person (not just the cheapest) they will be willing to pay.

Now chill out with a nice hot bath and a glass of wine - and one virtual hug from all your mates on the forum.....

Cheers Richard,

Despite walking home face onto a head wind and driving rain I feel a bit better now I'm out of my crappy office with no windows or natural light.

The landlady is sorting the window (it'll be a LONG time til I own my own place again thanks to my ex but that's a whole other story...!)

Re the job, I have spoken to HR and the sister in charge and because I'm switching from an admin role to a nursing type role, they are apparently not obliged to offer me anything apart from the bottom of the grade lower than I'm currently on. The sister has accepted my withdrawal from accepting the role. I just cannot lose any income whatsoever, and had been hoping the extra income from shift enhancements would have helped my uni fund but guess not! They recruited 12 healthcare assistants, so I guess they can only afford the lowest of the low wages and they can't have wanted me that much.

I am going to have a bath now (minus the wine as I'm teetotal) and then grab an early night

Cheers

J
