When i get into my Z and start it up in the morning or when its cold,it makes a squeeling sound for a few seconds, when it goes away there's a reving noise as if somthing is catching up with everything else, is this the water pump or somthing else ???????????.

Sound like you fan belt slipping.

The noise you are hearing when you start is most prob your fan turning. Usual cause, some temp sensor not working properly so it leaves the fan on. My one does it.

Hi ya Shrek!

What you are describing is indeed the fanbelt slipping - mine had the same problem (and still does very occasionally). The way to resolve this is to adjust the fanbelt tensioner - have to do this from underneath the car (not difficult though). If you have some time then either Jeff or myself could help you out with this.

Nice meeting you yesterday!

Cheers,

Danny

Shrek!!!

I had same trouble matey, easy peasy fix mate, as Danny says that's what the problem is.

If I can do it, am sure you can.

Also agree with Danny, nice meeting some of the people from the forum.

See you all again soon.

Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce...Bounce... (sorry no sound!) LOL

if you have elliminated the fan belt and still have the noise it could also be a dry bearing on one of the cambelt idler pulleys, thats what was noisey on mine when it was cold , but its a ball ache to check out unless youre ready for a timing belt then its easy to check whilst doing(pulley cost £50)it.
