im soo shite at writing complains please help me make this letter more 'Aggressive' lol

Dear *******

On 22/10/10 I went to my local Tesco Hayes to purchase a set of contact lenses.

I was met with a female member of staff who advised they were out of stock of focus daily -6 contact lenses.

I then asked for her to check of there were any in the back to which she referred me to her colleague possible a manager. His immediate response was ‘why did you leave this to the last minutes, do you really think we order such stock on a daily basis?’

I was amazed at this reply and decided not to challenge him regarding this. I then asked if he could call the next local tesco Opticians to see they had any in stock to which his colleague did, and I was advised they had run out too.

Now I was surprised how such a large store could let a product like this run out, I was told it could take a week to order more through, this is not what I had expected from Tesco, but rather my local opticians.

I then returned to Tesco on 25/10/10 to find Tesco Hayes still don’t have any in stock, and advises they will take a few more days to come. I was provided with no option and was completely out of stock, I then asked the same colleague to call the local tesco to which he replied he hasn’t got the yeading tesco telephone number, and I should join the back of the que of their customer service desk to get it.

When I finally contacted Tesco in yeading I was advised they were also out of stock but they will give me a few pairs to last me a few days and when the lenses come in they will reserve them for me.

is it really worth complaining, maybe you have a bad day just like the people in tesco's, i wouldnt have wrote a letter to complain, i would have told the person who was being arsey to wind his neck in

Hi Indy,

my personal opinion (for what it's worth) is not to sound agressive; but to sound very intelligent/learned!

Anyone can say "your company is shite because.......xxx" but more often than not, the people reading the compliants are quite smart and will just fob you off with excuses at best; or bin it at worst.

If, however, you sound smart then they will think you know your stuff and you will therefore most likely not be fobbed off by their pathetic excuses. They will not know how far you will take things and assume the worst (court/watchdog etc); so their response will be more favourable!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:

Allan has a good point!

It would probably have been best to insist on seeing a manager at the time and letting him/her know how you felt about the service you received and the attitude of the pleb serving you....

i think richards advice is slightly better than mine, but ive always found that complaining after you have left the store is totally pointless, do it while you are there to someone more senior

you get a lot more respect that way and your complaint will be dealt with more swiftly

Rule of thumb re complaints:

Be succinct but informative - dates, times, names

Say what made you unhappy and why

State how you would like this to be resolved

Tescos are useless, my local runs out of frigging carrier bags all the time and your forced to buy the bag for life *****cks

1) Don't make Tesco's any richer than they already are.

2) Very few opticians keep much stock of all the myriad types of contact lens anyway (doesn't let Tesco off the hook for being cr4p customer service, tho')

3) Try these guys http://www.lensway.co.uk where I bought my last sets.

Good Luck. Or should that be GOOD LUCK :)

Think its a bit much complaining that Tesco have not managed your life for you.

Its a shop not a life support system that if it fails your life falls over.

If a shop does not have what you want, go somewhere else for it.

I agree with the managers responce of "why did you leave this to the last minute" if you cant function without them you should take responcibility of your own life and make sure you dont run out.

Has the world become so babied that people break down and complain because a shop runs out of a product? Christ grow up!

Complain about poor attitude/service sure, but not sure how you can complain about an Item not being in stock, especially a rather unique item like a particular strength contact lense. Its only a supermarket.

I agree with the above sentiments but for the biggest supermarket in the UK to run out of carrier bags on a regular basis? Shocking

They dont? they are actively trying to stop using them and force you to buy the Bags for life.

Supermarkets in Fance dont have them full stop! Buy a bag or buy one are your only options. Good idea.

Dear sir / madam,

I recently visited my local store [insert store name here] on [insert date here] to acquire some contact lenses, I was told you were out of stock of the particular strength contact lenses I was after [insert contact info here]. I then asked politely if the sales rep could check the stock area; just in case some happened to be there. The Clerk asked someone else whom I presume to be part of the management, upon his return he rudely stated that they had none in stock and that I shouldn't of left it so late to visit the store to get some.

Now given that I had not disclosed whether or not I had completely ran out of contact lenses or the fact I had not expressed that I needed them urgently, I find this behavior rather appalling and it made me feel rather embarrassed as this was said to me in front of other customers.

I understand that Tescos is a super market and not a fully fledged pharmacy, so sometimes stocks dwindle, but having someone who is supposed to represent Tescos basically tell me off like I'm some kind of adolescent child, I find rather offencive and degrading, It also left me feeling rather uncomfortable.

I was then advised that stock would take a week to deliver, and to return then.

I have been back into the store recently and they are still, yet to have a supply of the aforementioned contact lenses, I use Tescos as its closer than my nearest pharmacy, its more convenient as well as I can do my shopping and get other supplies while I'm there. I now feel as though it would be worth the extra journey to acquire the products I need else where, as I find that my experience has left me feeling very uncomfortable when I approach the pharmaceutical counter for fear that I get the same response.

Regards

There ya go.

Dear Sir/Madam,

With reference to your letter dated (insert date) where you had a less than happy experience at our (insert town name) store.

I am pleased to write to you to explain that you are the worst kind of petty mindless customer we all dread sloping in to our stores. When we see you park up outside in your "sports" car and bring yourself toward to entrance dragging your knuckles along the ground, it takes all our might not to burst out laughing until the realisation hits us that we are actualy going to have to converse and interact with you.

In reality it is US who should be writing to you and your kind with a complaint, no, a plea! To just go away so very and completely away!!! Leave shopping for those who have the mental capacity to perform it adiquately to manage in life if one shop is sold out of a product they can work out that going to another with it in stock resolves the issue.

I hope you understand we dont care about your custom and neither want it, infact they most likely saw you coming and took all the lenses off the selves just to make sure you didn't ever come back.

Yours Very Jokingly,

The Tesco Customer Services Team.

Vodkashots that letter is way too complicated for most Tesco members of staff to understand even the store manager. If you done it with pictures and crayon it might work though.

On a more lighter note:

that's a little uncalled for, where did he state in his first post that he needed them there and then? you are making the same assumptions as the manager, to be honest if i had gone into a store for contact lenses, and they said they didn't have any in stock, i too would ask them to look out back, i would not expect the reply he got, and if i did i would of told that manager where to shove it. i then would of gone to customer service and and got the shift manager down and explained it to him and shown my disgust for the way i was spoken too, its not there job to state how someone should do things in there life, just like its not your place to say that either.

I think you are completely missing the point that its not about the stock issue, its about the attitude of the representative on the counter and his reply. it just so happens that he was patient enough to wait for the delivery and yet STILL they didn't have any in stock.

Now would you call that in desperate need? i wouldn't, or he wouldn't of waited for the delivery, he would of gone somewhere else.
