How much is a replacement Gearbox ?

Mu gearbox may be on it's way out. Any Idea how much I could expect to pay for a replacement and fitting ?

Personally I'd go for a rebuild rather than a replacement, then you know it's gonna be 100% and guaranteed - unless it's monsterously screwed and not ecomically repairable of course. See a specialist - they'll be cheaper than Nelson.

Hi - I had this problem a few years back.

A repair-kit + labout was about half the cost of a new box + Lab - via Nissan. As the repair wasn't a guarentee something else would go in the future, I went for a new box.

I remember paying around £1250 or so for it, I had it fitted privately. Fitting - can't remember the cost...

I looked into getting a new one from the states, shipping was a killer. Otherwise a good deal.

Advice of the day: Don't put special oil like REDLINE MTL into a new box. It will DIE. smile.gif

Also... If you have a new Nissan box fitted by a NON-Nisssan dealer and you have problems, they will not pay for any replacement labour. If Nissan fit it they will.
