I'm well aware that many people have private number plates on here, so i'll try and not be too offensive!

Recently I've been weighing up whether to get a private plate or not and have been looking at a few possibilities, but mainly M300...???

Trouble is, when i see a BMW with the private reg X5 BMW (etc), I just think 'you :censored:'

Or, if I see someone with the plate D311 BOY (I was trying to think of an example where the name of the owner wasn't quite so transparent, but more often than not you haven't got a clue what the plate is actually supposed to say), again, I just think 'you.....'

So despite the fact that I think 'car plates' and 'name plates' are utter :censored:..

..and the people who have them are utter :censored:..

I still would like one for my Zed. Which I guess, makes me a :censored:

1) What do you lot reckon (love em or hate em)?

2) And who has the best private plate on here?

I feel a poll coming on.. Calm yourself missus, not that kinda poll:winkiss:

No offence taken, and i feel exacly the same about them, But with the likes of M300 then 2 initials or something then its acceptable, IMO! But what i do hate is( cant say actually as i might offend) so I will shut up,

Mine is M300 DL, Obviously `m` year then 300 and then DL, me Darren Livesley , but spaced in a unique way :sailor:

Depends on the plate - my brother has a couple of cool ones: DA99 (His name is Donald Alcorn) and 813 DON. (BIG DON)

If you want one mate - you get one - who cares what anyone else thinks.

If i could afford a nice one i would get one.

What winds me up is when i see a decent plate on a crappy car.

I would'nt pay alot for one tbh, certainly not silly money. If you want one then why not. Mines nothing fancy but the original no. was too long and just looked ugly to me. So I changed it.

I should probably add that I don't actually mind subtle ones like:

BA 3, FP 25 etc etc

But as these type are usually hideously expensive and usually found on old Bentleys or Rolls I can forgive em...

DAZ is currently the 'cool plate' leader with the slightly illegally spaced M30 ODL!

Don't mind that at all - good reason too!

:punk:

I do a lot of work for a guy that has `7V` on his car, he says the 7 is lucky and the V is the 1st letter of his second name, I think it looks GREAT

AND, a guy a few miles from me owns 2 Bugatti Veyrons!!! Honest!!! 2 of the fookers, 1 his and 1 hers!!, his reg is EB1 (bugatti emblem) and the other is something similar(cant remember) Ahhhh some people have 2 much money!

This is one of them (hers)!! I dont know why the reg isnt on the front!

I used to have a private plate on my last uk 300zx.

I didnt manage to remove it before the mot ran out!!!

300 ybx.

Nearest i could find to 300zx.

I thought it was good to have a date less plate.

Only private plate I want I've already seen on a car in south wales - J4 NUS

Man I want it!!

Love em or Hate them it depends on the plate. I don't like plates where they doctor the letters or use black screws to make e.g. two 1's into a H.

Eliza used to have FLZ 2300 on it (well it may still have as I don't know what's actually happened to it). It was on when I bought her.

Shame :(

Mine has a private plate although it doesn't mean anything to me. But I much prefer it to a longer standard plate, with less digits I can have a smaller sized plate which I think stands out.

I had to scrap a 300zx that had H 2ED X on, that was a huge shame but it wasn't cost effective to fit a decent engine, MOT it, tax it, insure it.... just to release the plate from it. What a con :(

I saw BAZ 82 (the year I was born) but it was £2k and I couldn't justify that sort of wonga. May consider something similar in the future.

i got mine with the car A15 SFX, i have no idea what it is ment to stand for but i like it so its staying. lol

Maybe your car would sound good going down the A15? ;) :thumbup1:

I dont love or hate them.

The think the best I've seen on a Z was a shorty with "A 300 SWB" or th other I can think of is "A 7ED X" , but there are quite a few with very similar plates

I love mine. I think if you can find the right one it will really finish the car off

best plate/s i ever seen was on a DBS next to a Bentley. The DBS was 2B and the Bentley was NOT 2B.....sweet

That rings a bell. Im sure ive seen that.

Yeh, both those I mentioned are/were members cars, but cant remember who

I love private plates, best one id want, and was up for grabs was CU L8R or "see you later" first time i checked it was listed at £250,000 (yes quarter of a mill) the second time i checked on a different site it came down to £80,000. for some reason when i try it now it seems that you can no longer have that combination of letters and numbers.

Annoyingly they seem to have stopped doing the CUL8R type plates, all the ones it brings up in searches now, want to have CU the 2 numbers, then 3 letters, so kind of ruins what its supposed to say.
