No Breaks !!!!!!!

Well i got in my 'Z' last night, started ok, but then noticed that the Parking Break light was on when I backed it off the drive. Then I noticed that the breaks were 'piss poor' not completely without pressue but still not good.

Checked the fluid this morning, and it is below the Min but not empty.

There is no sign of any fluid on the drive so I don't think it has leaked but the breaks have never been 'good'.

I was wondering if this pointed to a slow leak in the system or some other problem, I'm gonna fill it up and see if it stays.

Is it usual to loose fluid over time ?

No it is not usual to lose fluid overtime. Howevere, the level in the resovoir does go down as the brake pads wear. When you put new pads in the pistons are moved back and the level goes back up (or overflows if you ghave recently topped it up!)

Shouldnt loose any fluid at all..sealed system. You need to check for leaks everywhere, I have heard about master cylinders going when the incorrect Brake Fluid is used (to aggresive). You need to look at this as a matter of urgency..

Hope turns out fine

When you say the reservoir isn't completely empty, have you checked both sides??? There is a split down the middle to seperate the two circuits and one can run out b4 the other... Sounds to me like you've got a damaged hose/connection somewhere and this needs checking IMMEDIATELY!!! Remove each wheel in turn and check where the flexi hose attaches to the copper pipes and see if they are 'wet' with fluid. If none of these are at fault are there any lines that run under the car damaged???

Just a few ideas for now....
