me and my dad are musicians, he was doing a gig with a band for the launch in 1989, at a massive showroom in manchester, i went along, i was only 7! the zed was there, spinning around on a turn table thingy, looking stunning, my mum got drunk and nearly dropped the targa top, and i said to my dad, one day i'm gonna get one of them, he said yeah right matey, i never forgot that day, or the image burnt into my brain, and since then i have been trying to get one, now i have :-D

Nice story Tudor infact there is a lot of good stories here how years ago it was a young boys dream car well out of reach and now they drive one:clap:

Great thread! some great insights too..

I had my skyline 4yrs but ultimately wanted something quicker. My mate bought a R33GTS-t just to piss me off, which was obviously a lot quicker than mine. I knew I wanted a Jap car, cos my 'line had been so faithful and the engine was bomb proof. My mate desperately wanted me to get an R33 (presumably so we could be bum boys together!) but I fancied a change from a skyline (and besides, I could always go for a spin in his).

It didn't take much to make up my mind on the 300zx. Its a very handsome car some 20yrs after it was originally penned. It could be a tad over engineered and a bit pricey to fix, but even after months of monitoring this forum befor I bought my Zed, it wasn't enough to put me off em! So after 5 months of looking at various shagged out cars, the right car came up - in bloody scotland though! Went to see it and the rest is history.

My mate has now got a E46 M3 (but still got the GTS-t too) and he was less than impressed when my £3.5k Nissan whupped his £14k bimmer:gunsmilie:

So far its been my best purchase ever!

In fact talking about it has made me want to go for a drive, I'm off......

Good man, enjoy! :punk:

I actually seen a white one on this film called"Teen Agent" in the UK and "If looks could kill" in the US.

Always wanted one since then.

Actually went out to buy one loads of times over the years. Must have looked at at least 7 but always came back with something different. Trans Am, Camaro, Prelude, Supra etc. Then i thought, sod it, i'm having a White Z and came on here to look for one :)

Fuuny thing is i actually got to be the guy from that film last Thursday when a Lotus Esprit actually pulled next to me lol. I was excited like a little kid :)
