lol looks like us mods are all out buying new Zeds, (come on StellaZ hurry up)

So this is Rev1's old car and I'm sure this is going to bring a tear to his eye, (really sorry about that, but she is in good hands matey)

After a very exhilarating drive home yesterday, i spent most of the night (12am to 3am) fitting my LED conversion that Groover had done for me (bloody top work that man) and fixing a stereo that was refusing to eject one of Rev1's disks. and then went sleep

after i got home from work today, i instantly ran out to her and started work, parking both Zeds up next to each other i set about removing the back panels to switch my UK rear seat belts over to the New jap spec one sitting there wanting me to take her for a spin, but first things first in a labor of love, tweaking what is already a fantastic car. Next thing to tackle was the wing. badly crumpled, there was just no hope for pulling hammering and bending, but armed with a spare (thanks Rev1) i sprayed it up ready, and set to work taking the old wing off and replacing it with the new one.

Once that was done i started on the 99spec rear light mod. having fought a hard battle with that horrible sticky black glue Nissan use. i finally got around to making Brake light chow main in the oven, after wrestling with the casing i finally made them split apart to get to work.

Anyway, I've just got back from putting them on the car, so here is the grand unveiling.

Next on the list is,

Fit my 99spec front bumper.

Fit my 89spec rear spoiler.

Refurb the alloys. with the color of car. I'm thinking white Powder coated center spokes, with chrome rim.

Plenum change for the nice shiny one that's sitting in my black Zed.

Are you on about for the boot lid? if so it goes into a garage at night. id left it out side tonight so i could fit the lights back on.

Aaah your on about the 300zx center on the rear between the lights. sorry head not with it I'm a bit tired. the rear lights where just a mod kit. wish it included the EL 300zx logo but i like it when it doesn't light up. makes people go "what is that?"

no perspex strip is going on matey, I'm putting a Car.mad 89spec on it. love that spoiler and suits the car so well.

Looks great mate. LOVE the dash and i'm pleased you're going with the original spoiler. by far the best in my opinion. :)

I totally agree, i am yet to come across a After market spoiler i like that i think suits the shape of the Zed. Don't get me wrong, i like some spoilers, even when they are on the Zed, but i wouldn't put it on mine as i don't think they fit the flowing lines.

EDIT,

Why does it always seem that you cant hold a camera steady when taking a photo of the LED dash mod lol

You have done a great job there Vods it looks great all you need now is twin exhausts mate:thumbup:

You know what, that 5Zigen is really growing on me lol, and as i don't have to look at it unless I'm standing behind the car, I'm still in two minds as to fit the mongoose or leave it on.

Im really pleased for you mate, going to be really nice when youve finished.

Thank you graham, means a lot to me to be honest. after having 2 i needed to do serious work on (1 engine change, other turbo change) i have to say im very honored to own this one, and it came from a great guy. im going to look after her well.

I'm going to go for a subtle look. nothing over the top. its so nice to know i can just jump in and drive.

As much as people have said "for the amount you spent on those two zeds you could of bought a working one by now", at least i have experience with working on them. and fixing things, rather than having a working one and braking things lol

I'm loving how well the new wing turned out with the spraying. i did kind of cake the lacquer on as well lol

About time mate. is everthing running as it should be on this one

Small power steering leak somewhere, so need to chase that up, but have all the parts to sort that out on my black one, and also a starter motor hicup, sometimes when you turn the key to the start position, you hear the starter motor but the engine doesn't turn, sounds like if you try starting the car with the car already running, got a feeling its a seating issue. other than that. all is good. even sorted out the alarm by accident lol

Yeah i think the starter motor is ussually one bolt that drops out over time or somthing like that.

Ive replaced the over head light unit with the one from my black car, redid the wiring for the alarm that goes to it. and changed the bulb for a LED one. screwed it all back together. and the alarm now works with out setting its self off every few minutes. its been on all night with out a hitch. all i wanted to do was fit the LED bulb but it was easier changing the casing over than just the bulb, as the first time i fitted the LED to my black one i blew the fuse in the foot well, and couldn't be buggered to bend down and change it if i did it again, so just changed the unit its self over with the bulb in.

Also managed to sort out why the boost gauge was showing 20 all the time, the green wire goes to the white wire on the vacuum box.
