just wondering how to remove the instument pannel to fit my new dials. i've tried the search section but there doesn't seem to be a straight forward how to. just how to fit the dials themselves, not the actual removal of the pannel.

are you on about replacing the face of the dials? like adding a EL face to it?

Yes, i bought some plasma glow ones from ebay. was hopping to have a blast at fitting them tomorow.

If you look at fig 1 on the aus link, you will see 2 red arrows where the screws go into the bottom brackets, you can use those to power the EL dials. As you look at the pic the right hand arrow is the positive feed.

I would also use a soft setting glue, like pritt stick or contact adhesive. Super glue gets brittle when cold and can lift the dial face, which will hinder the needle sweep. You should be able to blow the needles effortlessly round apart from the fuel needle. It doesnt matter where the fuel needle sits when you have finished as it will move to whatever level of fuel you have in the tank. HTH

excellent chears, what about the fuel tank light? will that still work? i was thinking of using araldite (just because i have alot of it at work) or will that be the same as superglue? what about double sided tape?

Araldite will be fine, the thin 3m double sided tape should be ok, but you dont want to add any more height than you need for the clearance of the needles. You will lose the fuel light warning, but some have relocated it to a spare holder in the bottom of the dash. You can solder some wire to the existing bulb holder and run it down to a spare and solder to the bulb holder.
