Steering Wheel Alignment

How is this done? (To possibly overcome HICAS problem)

Submarine first check by driving the car in a perfect straight line and look what position your wheel is in before you take it off.

There are "hundreds" of splines on the wheel hub...do any of these have to to be aligned exactly to ensure correct HICAS ops..the wheels "appear" straight when wheel straight, but could very easily be a few splines out etc...

Any suggestions???

Before you take off the steering wheel make sure your front wheels are straight, then unbolt your wheel, when your wheel is off turn the plastic disc until it is 12 o clock and carefully slide your wheel over the splines wink.gif

Tried the wheel alignment bit, actually quite a humourous afternoon.. stoping every 15 mins..wheel off rotate a little.try again routine..but alas no joy still get HICAS lamp after 15mins running.

Is the HICAS sensor on the ring at the rear of steering wheel...(where cruise control, horn connections are?

What is the next step???
