been working at a house all week converting a bedroom into a bathroom

 

the woman is on a stay warm plan where they pay so much a month for gas and they can have it on as little or as much as she likes

 

went in the house today and she is sitting with the windows and doors wide open, i asked why they were open and her reply was "its red hot in here, but im on stay warm plan and there is no way im turning the heating off"

 

i just walked off laughing, typical old miser lol, worst thing is its drained the life out of me this week, working in a house with the heating on full blast and not much of a draught up stairs

 

are all old people like this lol

no mate..my old mam cant afford the heating on more than 6 hours aday..keep telling her to switch to another plan but she wont:huh:

Worked for an old guy who insisted that I left the last half bag of sand from the concrete mix, because he paid for it and didnt want it taking away.

Said he might need it for next time, all two shovels full???????

we get asked sometimes when we have had a price in if the anount of screws were counted or are they paying for a full box

In summer when its hot! Would do it in the winter but its just too cold then I can't sleep when my body temp goes too low. Have even been known to get up and put a jumper on in the night in mid winter lol! So not sexy but I need my beauty sleep!

LMFAO Alan, i know what you working in. We have a care home in west sussex, 38 flats, all elderly oaps, went to change some taps last tuesday, and it was showing 84'f in the flats, the flat had no windows open and a gas fire on, the guy was complaining it was cold, sweated me nuts off in minutes.

i was in shorts and t shirt.

The place last winter never had a drop of snow or ice on it, due to the roof tiles being warm, but oustide was bitterly cold.

Ugh that must be horrendous! My office is on a hospital ward, its absolutely baking in there over winter - have to wear layers as its freezing on the walk in, but I have to wear summer stuff in the office if I don't wana die of heat exhaustion!
