good day in all, got through 3 sets of tyres, came down with a few mates, first time id driven the 300 on this track, iv driven a 200 on it, the video isof my 2nd run in that car so ignore the first 2 spins :P and the final spin was because id out stayed my welcome by 1 lap lol!! probably got in about 35 - 40 laps overall, i could drift that with my eyes closed by the end :P lol!

anyway, 300's arent really meant to be drift cars as im sure you all know, the photographer that had covered dwyb for the past 5 years said he'd only ever seen 1 other 300, and it didnt survive the first hour....

it had started on the 14th with a failed brake master cylinder and a huge water leak and by the evening we'd ripped it appart replaced some pipes, water pump and the master cylinder (with one of a 200sx ca18) works great :) - then after driving a million miles to santapod it started missfiring, idling very high and spluttering black smoke, so....... i took it on the track and it sorted everything out, its never ran smoother in its life, the clutch is great (even tho the master cylinder is leaking) and its off my NA (lol)

all in we had an epic day, i even got asked to do a few drift taxis to paying punters by the santapod promoters :D

well done mate, nice to see a 300 being drifted, ill be drifting with my son in his 200sx at norfolk arena tomorrow :)

Awesome bud! Your car looks great, I would love to do that in my Zed

Dazvert - should come down to the next one, my NA was (reletively) easier to drift than the tt plus seeing a 300 down there was rare enough letterloan a convertable!

Gary Wilson - I did bring a helmet but only a few ppl wore them, it's fairly low risk, not like drift1 in Buxton or some of the other drift tracks if you look on the website it says optional, tbh there wasn't enough room for 6"5 of me + helmet + low roof and broken height adjustableness in the seat set to half way.

How'd it go yassa?

Hi Bud, would never do it in my vert, but would consider in my TT! Looks great fun, and seems quite safe to do

Just noticed the Hello kitty doll hanging from your towing eye :punk:

Yea she's managed to melt herself to the exhaust tip! She'll live /: lol! yea don't kill a vert, not when tt's are ten a penny ;)

Hi mate what diff are you using standard r230 lsd or a NA r200 or is it welded

nice, muchos respect! some great pictures there - action pics look way better than static.

what techniques were you using to start the drift? is the stock handbrake good enough to get the back out?

Gonna have to give this a go when i get a zed - its the most awesomist way of killing rear tyres i can think of!

i like the tinted rear lights i think it looks quite cool, and for the drifting that looks like bags of fun haha, what was that clown in the bmw doing at the start. but yeah thats brilliant i wouldnt mind coming down and watching, glad you had fun though :D

...spelling :/

Hi.

I stuck a post up on driftworks to try find out who was brave enough to driftin the 300 after seeing a pic of it in a thread.

I like the stickers tbh. You never thought about going for soem nice camber on the wheels, roll the arches etc?

Hey guys sorry for the late reply, the diff is standard (I converted from na to tt) so it's an NA diff, the handbrake doesn't work beleive it or not :/ I'm building a hydrolic handbrake at the moment, was having to stick to good ol' inertial drift to initiate the slide and the spoiler is the mid high rise one sorta fits with the lines of the ball ache veilside side skirts I blended in for so

e stupid reason although I do like the way they loom tbh ;)

Yea I'd love to fix the camber but rolled arches look gash on 300 plus mine are entirely made outta bog fibreclass and welded panels and tbh I don't know where the bog ends and the new panels start and that would be an expencive mistake ;) and as for the stickers, they never come into my line of sight although he police dislike them and tell me so everytime they stop me for a chat /: the back window is now he same too ;) I like he way it looks now I just need a front splitter to bring he front down
