Hi Allen, not saying these are better than any other real ale but try Shepard & Neame it's a Kentish brewery, Spitfire, Bombardier and Whitsable Bay are just three beers from them.

Nice to see you're growing out of that lager stuff, ha, ha!! Asda's do a good selection of the smaller brewery ales but not sure the south coast ones travel up your way but Wadworth '6X', Ringwood 'Forty-Niner' along with Moorlands 'Old Speckled Hen' are worth a sup or three:duffer:

just got a bottle of badger golden champion and a bottle of spitfire for this weekend

If you ever get down to Sheffield, the Frog and Parrot off West street brew there own dead Parrot at 14% and squashed Frog at 11.2% but you can only get a wine glass full for £3.00. You do get a certificate if you manage four glasses though.

Bit rough the following morning though smells a bit like you brought the frog home with you.

tried one of the badger beers, not sure if it was golden champion or not, strong peach smell/taste, very wierd!!!

I don't drink much but now, , my parents used to make all different liqueurs , it was a very unforgiving the next day, after me and a mate nicked some out of me dads shed ,

Hi Allan,

I quite like the real beers as well mate! There are a couple of southern ones (Like Old Speckled Hen) that are nice; however I prefer the ones from Yorkshire.

Try Theaksons Old Perculiar or anything from The Black Sheep Brewery. Whenever I'm up in that neck of the woods, I always try and visit the Black Sheep Brewery in Masham! It was started by Paul Theakson (of Theakstons) after the family sold out to a national brewer.....

....he opened up virtually opposite his old family's site!

I have something to say............ It's better to burn out than to fade away..... :tt2:
