Im planning on building a stud partition wall in a ‘T’ configuration with one door in each run and planning on using wickes to supply the materials. I know I need to make a frame and cover it using plasterboard but how thick do I need to make the wall to take the doorframes?

Any help with wood sizes etc…

Thanks.

Door frame`s come in different widths to suit timber/block sizes, for an internal stud wall we normally use 3x2 timber ,then 1/2" plaster board each side, so the frame needs to be approx 4 1/8", for a more structural stud wall we use 4x2 timber so just add an inch and a bit(skim) to the over all size

or if your in mm, then 75x50 wood and 12.5mm plasterboard each side and 3mm for skim each side too, but just ask them when you order and they will know what your on about

Just make sure you get 12.5mm plasterboard though, coz your plasterer will go ape shit if you get smaller!!!
