with so many obscure names on this site i just wondered how people came to have them. obviously some are just using their name but some aren't.

mine started because by day i was a mild mannered reporter but at night i donned latex and a cape and saved the city from criminals!!

No not really! I mine is just a nickname that started back in my karting days and it seemed to stick with me. Don't think it helped that i have been a bit of a rogue in my past either with the occasional dust up around town! :shifty::shifty:

so what about you guys?? any interesting stories?

When I was registering on the forum I looked out of the office window and saw an Apache hovering...............that, and the fact I'm an engineer on the Apache flight simulator.

Mine was a Nickname given to me when I joined the Army 22 Years ago. it's an abbreviation of my surname. :cool3:

Was listening to Depeche Mode's 101 cd when I first came across this forum so as I couldn't think of anything when I registered I went with jonlowndes101!

My name is Jane, in junior school my best mates Graeme and Anth started calling me Janus (JAnus) and its stuck ever since!

Well my name pronounced Footumsh, just I decided to spell it my way, In the Young Ones these two dwarfs come down from wherever in the universe they normally live, come to earth and they get two minutes I think it was to cause mischief. :devil2:

They only get to come to earth when somebody on earth says there name, Ftumsch, the red faced dwarf, as I have also seen it spelt, never ever gets said so he stays where he his but the other dwarf called 'Orgo' always gets said so he comes to earth more often.

'Shall I go to the shops orgo to the pub' - you see.

Award to me today for the best explanation of a username. :tt2:

being not the slimmest person in the world, my bestest buddy named me YASSA VERYFAT... it seems to have stuck,,, GIT,

Many moons ago i used to build swimming pools and my boss was Spanish. Although he'd lived in the UK for over 25years he still had a very broad Spanish accent. My name is David Plummer but he'd pronounce it (mostly drunk and whilst slagging me off!) as Daffy Plum. It stuck and nearly 15 years later everyone i know calls me Daffy.

Mines straight forward, brigade are one of my favourite bands! Check them out they rock!

I just had a look. Not my thing. They just sound like a carbon copy of fightstar who are arguably one of the worst bands on the planet. The vocals do not suit rock music, too limp wristed.

Fightstar are the greatest band on the planet!!!!!!! charlie simpson is a musical genius! seen them 13 times including japan and oz (just perfect timing in my traveling days). They get better every time i see them.:punk:

Was watching the telly thinking about a username when i started using the net at 16/17 - advert break was bantamweight boxing and then the duracell bunny advert - put the two together and what do you get?

Bantam-bunny! :D

good one lol !!!

My company name was a better one, I lived in ashby de-la zouch and was searching for a company name, some of the invoices were lying on top of each other, cut the address off part way and the town read as ...de-la zo.... hence Delazo! :D

Completely on the spot made up name that I cant even pronounce properly (and everybody pronounces it different and spells it wrong anyway) and I hate it.

Well this thread has spurred me on to change my name, so here we have the new name!

Used it a few times on other sites, it does'nt have any real meaning, just an invented name as before that I got from my avatar

i think mines obvious enough

Sorry, still not clear on that lol?? Jane Anus??

Anyhoo

Mine is pretty straight forward. Pbryant My initial and Surname an Underscore to represent a space since most forums and the like don't allow spaces and then Knight due to my Kitt replica and love of Knight Rider :)

I'm still intrigued as to where Scatrat gets his username? Come on man, stick a post up :)

Peter

i think mines obvious enough

Applying this logic would make me "Twyford Fairlady".
