Dont be gutted there fantastic machines and if tuned they will beat most zx

This one was mine and i reckon that the coop would just edge it against my zed, . It had a gt28 rsr running 1.2bar and was around 340hp. have a super 3rd gear that can go to about 110mph

Been looking at yellow speed 6 recently

a stock TT in good working order is about 1 sec faster to 60 so either a modded fiat, or yours needs a little TLC or down to driver skill.

step 1: has yours been checked over properly for condition, e.g. boost leaks, ECU codes

step 2: if car in good nick, up boost via jets (cheap) or controller (not so cheap) and cone intake (e.g. blitz, apexi, hks)

thats gorgeous Dave   very nice indeed. Nearly just bought one myself but the missus doesnt like them (not that it usually stops me )

Even a standard Z auto should have no problem with a standard Fiat 20v turbo.

Fiat 220bhp, 2,881 lbs, 171 bhp/ton

300zx 2+2 TT Auto 280 bhp, 3,516 lbs, 178 bhp/ton

Either Fiat was tuned or your Z needs work. Of course, auto would take a little time to kickdown/get act together compared to manual but even so.

Not keen on them in std form. My coop went from stock to this in about 2 mounths. spent a fortune on it and i wish i never sold it :(

TT autos are about 268hp and about 6.2 to 60, most stock coops are 6secs with an exhaust and a filter the coops are around 240hp with a chip 260hp new turbo fitted 300+ :w00t:

very lovely car those are.

very nearly bought one before the zed. I still might get one just for the sake of it

mate the autos are ace for drag, they pull better times than most manual cars consistently. I stick mine in power mode with over drive off and it kicks ass.

Another one to watch for, Seat Cupra R, With a remap. A stock Z is toast, even a Z with more power will not touch it till over 80mph, I took one out, and if i had the money sure would get one, a lot of fun in such a small car.

Haha, thats a blast from the past!

I once owned a fiat 20v turbo, it was quick. I fitted a better turbo and it shifted, you can buy a cheapo chip from ebay and it ups the boost a bit and adds an extra 30-40bhp or so. Hey car mad mine was green also but with stock wheels, i did have those side skirts tho and colour matching front and rear bumper trims. Was a great little car, never wanted to sell it but i lost my licence and had to give it up. I sold it to a friend he still has it but he blew the engine, its been sitting on his drive for about 3 years now lol
