You know you want to stick a Momo steering wheel or similar on your Z, but not only do you have to relocate your cruise controls (early Z'S) but the real problem is there is a Hicas sensor in the hub. Bummer!

 

Having spoken with Peter at SE he is working on an aluminium hub which will allow Momo and other italian wheels with the same bolthole pattern to fit, and retain your Hicas.

 

I am organising a grp buy. The more we get the cheaper should be the price. It should be less than £50 each.

Can I be difficult and say yes if I can get one with cruise buttons.

Peter can do a plate which will keep the buttons on the wheel if you want. The other way is simply relocating the buttons to near the gear lever (my pref). The plate would be extra but not much. Suggest you talk with Pete direct about this if your interested. There are also some wheels which come with buttons for ICE which you could adapt but these are expensive and rare. You'll still need the hub whatever you decide. Let me know.

 

I plan to close the grp buy on the 6th May at the brighton meet. So far we got a handful of interested people, which is ok. I'll want the money off you before I place the order. I'll confirm how much soon after the 6th.

 

A couple of you have said other places will do the hub. If you have any details I'll check them out. I have been looking casually for a few months and drawn a blank which is why SE seems the best bet.

i am understanding that momo in italy actually makes a boss already fo the 300zx tt.

but there are actually quite a few companys in japan that sell the boss.

on the subject who wants a momo millenium brand new?

Update on the hubs:

 

Momo do a hub but I don't believe it is Hicas friendly. It is also listed for other Nissans without Hicas, which supports this. Anyone know for sure? The momo hub is £30-40 so the price differential is not much.

 

Those who are interested (currently I make that Submarine, b12andy, chrisC and myself) please confirm by email by monday evening, and I will confirm the final price with Peter on tuesday. I will then want your cheques.
