Just had a phone call from my bank and some thieving Sod has just tried to buy airline tickets on my card £630.Cheers to the bank for picking up on it lol.They aint getting no holiday on The Bee Gee man.Its just a PITA having your card canceled.

Shame you just stopped am IMO going home lol. Your card might have been cloned though.

Absolute gits, always something i fear is getting a card cloned and that. I check my statements thoroughly and regularly!

 

Having said that I have just been done by a cheeky bugger in a hotel... Basicaly stayed at a premier inn near nottingham on wednesday night, ate in the restaurant at a table I had booked for 7:30, as it happens I came downa round 7:40 or so so was a few minutes late. When I walked up to the till and asked for my reservation for room 49 the girl looked a bit confused and went Oh ok, and then cleared me another table. I didnt think much of it at the time but my booking had already been crossed of the book.

 

Anyway ate my food, paid at the till and went to my room. Fast forward to yesterday morning and there is a letter from Premier inn, within it is a copy of the room bill and food bill. Odd I thought but they somtimes post the invoices out if the computer has crashed and they dont know whos had them and who hasnt etc.

 

Anyway only by chance was I looked at the restaurant receipt and read the contents and thought I didnt have fish and chips! Looking more closely realised that the tab was opened at 7:32 and then not closed till almost 11:00.

 

It became clear that some cheeky sod had looked at the booking sheet, claimed to be from room 49. Nicked my table, eaten their food and just pissed of as the staff must have realised that with no one at the tables at 11:00 that someone had left without paying for their food. Of course knowing that table 4 or whatever it was was from room 49 billed my company credit card for the meal!

 

Totally different to £630 set of flights, but the devious *******s! All that for an £11 fish and chip dinner!

Gald the bank flagged it up to you mate.

glad to hear they stopped it in time i got caught a couple of years back went to buy something on my mastercard and it got declined by the bank anyway after speaking to them got told my card was over it's limit...............i though what the f**k so went home checked my statement on line as i knew i had around £1500 on the card with a 8k limit, when i checked the statement there was nearly 7k of purchases in and around reading (considering i had not been anywhere near reading for 2 years at that point) but it was all places like b & q one spend was 3grand on a sit on mower anyway long shot was they refunded all my money and caught the theiving little barsteward that did it, i tihnk he's still inside as i type

I have just rang my bank to check that the call was genuine and it was.It is in the hands of the fraud dept. to try and find out how it happened.

Just checked my online bank account and the ferking bank has paid out £636.22 for Airlingus plane tickets.As they contacted me and stopped the payment and canceled my card the ferkin payment went ahead anyway FFS.Just come off phone to the fraud department and apparantly the first time it was another airline.Aint the pikie git ever heard of Ryan Air FFS.The cash will be put back in my account within 24 hrs plus any costs involved.

Cash now paid back into my account.Till it happens again.
