I've got a hunch, but i need some advise first,

 

what are the symptoms of a bad valve seal?

 

and of a bad turbo seal?

 

and what are the chances of a well maintained Z, having a worn piston ring at 60000KM?

 

i started to change my turbos and suddenly had a thought...

 

i lost 1 cylinder as it started to smoke, with no warning, didn't seem like an electrical fault, plugs, and coil good, cylinder getting fuel.

 

i has thinking if i remove my cylinder heads, (engine is ready to come out of my Zed) is there a way of telling, (was going to do my HG at the same time)

to do an easy tes poor some oil in all the bores (with head off) & see which one lets it by the quickest ..!! use thinish oil!

thanks ill try that, i know which cylinder isn't working its the front passenger side one, but wont the position of the cylinder affect the seal? do i have to have the piston at the top or bottom?

Wouldnt imagine it would make any difference tbh.

The piston ring should seal all the way round the piston, at any position.
