I fail to wonder why we was so negatively set up, Barry did ok but why did we need to protect the back four against the mighty Algeria?

Even after 60, 70 mins he changed nothing and bizarrely subbed like for like with Lennon and the very frustrating Wright-Phillips.

We could all see a shuffle of the pack was needed so why couldn't the expert?

I know Carragher and Terry have no pace and in particular Carragher is a liability, but Algeria were never going to show much in that final third.

From the way we play and set up it is as clear as day that we have an Italian we will win 1-0 manager.

The qualifying group we was in was very very poor, it made us look good, we cannot also argue with this actual World Cup group, we should be winning it quite comfortably.

David James in goal.

I want to see a flat back four, then Barry and Lampard, although I am not a Frank fan both in the centre, put Joe Cole on the left side with I suppose Lennon down the right, and please Lennon use your pace, get it out of your feet and get to the byline.

Allow and encourage both full backs, Johnson and Ashley to link and bomb up the flanks with the two wide midfielders, Cole and Lennon must work back to cover when required, I want to see your top wet through with sweat.

Now Gerrard please down the centre just off Rooney where he can roam and hopefully hurt the opposition, this will benefit Rooney and bring the best out of him.

There, simples, not rocket science its only a 4-4-1-1.

When any player as a chance to shoot, bloody shoot instead of another pansy pass.

I do not want to see Heskey again, he his no goal threat whatsoever.

If this does not work give Crouchy a good 20 mins up top.

Anybody else from the bench is a waste of time, lets face it we have a poor squad to say the least.

I wanted him to take Adam Johnson, he his young and direct and from the bench could of caused problems. Why take Barry and Carrick, very similar players indeed and one is definitely not going to be used.

Lets go on the offence from the 1st minute and stop fannying around being afraid to lose. :bored:

I believe Slovenia will be beaten but we must change things about, they are not a good side and will be set up in a negative formation, very much like Algeria where, as they search the draw they require.

Hopefully, Crapello will connect his laptop in the hotel lobby and read this!! :tt2:

Come on, do you honestly believe that?

I think that Slovenia are gonna come out fighting and, when England play the way that they did on friday night, you'll be on an early flight home.

Anything less than a win is no use.

its not just us though,,,all the 'big' european teams are struggling...italy only just scraped a point with the mighty new zealand,,,spain lost,,,france are all but out,,i think there will be changes this wednesday,,,,theres a big meeting tonight,,so hopefully theyll sort this shit out...

Ive had enough after Ten :lol:

I had a cracking drive earlier! Some really good empty roads from 3pm onward. Ended up driving past the Glastonbury Festival, then up over the Mendip Hills before coming back down via Cheddar Gorge then stopped off at my parents' house for supper. Fantastic weather, great scenery and the Z performed excellently...and Button & Hamilton were both on the podium! Excellent day! Sod the football! :duffer:

Yeh its deffo zed weather today, must fix mine.off to France fishing end of the week so it will have to wait.Regarding the Germany match, thats the difference between a team and a bunch of egotistical over paid ponces who are on it for the money.Shame aint it.This is why Rugby is still a good game as the money has not poisoned it.

What day are you going Jim and what route are you taking? I'm contemplating a random jaunt to France next weekend in the Z and will probably end up taking the over night ferry from Portsmouth to St.Malo. I know you did that crossing with your family last month, but can't remember if you said that you were doing that one again?

Hi Si,Doing Plymouth to Roscoff Friday lunchtime then heading to La Ville Hamon just outside of Menaec, its near Rennes mate, your more than welcome to pop by.area is of outstanding beauty and the roads are yer classic french, smooth and sleek.perfect for the zed.

Yeah, I know where Rennes is. Don't ever drive into the centre of Rennes, you'll never get out of it! The signage is horrendous!

I know the area, so you don't have to tell me how excellent the roads are. Why are you going to Roscoff though? St.Malo is about 45 minutes from Rennes, Roscoff is about 2 hours.

I'll head over via St.Malo as there's a little cafe there that I always go to for my croissant and hot chocolate after I get off the ferry.

The St malo ferry is 12hours whereas Roscoff is 6, Ell booked it bud, give me shout me we can get banjaxxed bankside on thatchers cider.

haha! Cool. I'll wait till the forecast tomorrow. If it's set to be good, then I'll book the crossings with Brittany Ferries. I'll probably head back via Caen (Quistreham). You guys camping or staying at a Chambre d'ote?

Ell wants to stay at the services !!! id prefer a roadside camp site but i got outnumbered.

Is the site easily accessible? I'll be in the Z rather than the Passat, so no gravel side roads or fords! LOL

Just checked the weather, looks like Friday is gonna be a scorcher, so I'll book up tomorrow. Hope Saturday will be good also!

Lake is up a tarmac lane that is zed friendly.i will send you the sat nav settings mate.pm me your e mail.be great to see you lakeside,Elliott will be surprised to see you.

Donna's got my email...well, you must have it on there?

Yeah, will check with BF tomorrow if the 24hr offer is still available and will go from there, the cheap deals might be sold out, we'll see. My Satnav doesn't work in Europe, but I have a decent French Atlas that lives in the Z. Or send me the details and I can print off some stuff before I leave. Not sure how long I'll stop for, as I'll either be heading east to LeMans or NW toward Caen. There's an old ship I want to check out in the canal that runs between Caen and Ouistreham.

I hear what you are saying fella but I disagree. With the football heritage we have and wealth of experience across the country. We should be living up to our own expectations and the worlds.

The truth is our players are not hungry anymore. They get paid stupendous amount of money which has gone to their heads. Leading to no focus or drive.....

We just dont want it enough!!

Example: Remember Rooney, Owen when they were pretty much undiscovered behind the scenes talent. And how they played?

I rest my case.

Spot on IMHO. No hunger and no drive. it's all about the money to them now, they play for themselves and not thier country.

The best player we have is James!

lol, the team lose 4-1 and our best player was the goal keeper.

Says it all really, when are they going to learn that money cannot

buy talent, it doesn't matter how much money the FA throw at them,

they aint going to get any better.

They need to put a cap on the number of foreign players in our teams

and let some home grown talent come up through the ranks, then maybe

in 4yrs time we may have a better chance at the next world cup, thats

if we qualify of course.

didnt most of the foreign players that play in the premiership go out of the world cup before we did?

dan.:cool3:

You're probably right there, but they still take the places in premiership teams

that could go to up and coming talent.

The only reason they play in the premiership is the money, they dont have

any loyalty to the team or country.

i personally think its because they get paid too much. £100k+ PER WEEK plus £ms in royalties/advertising/own businesses for doing your favourite thing is just sick in my opinion :( pay them £50k a year and tell them if they don't perform they're out - THEN we'll see who the best players are!
