WANTED UR OLD PARTS

i need any old parts that i can convert/copy to carbon fibre

fan shroud covers

throttle covers

centre console covers

etc etc!!

ive just priced our bonnets and so far its not gonna be worth it in pure carbon fibre

on a 1 off it would be 5-600 quid and it would be hard to spray paint!

my mate said the fibre grain would show through eventualy,so im looking at other ways

the company im using is a top performance company who make carbon parts for lowering the weight of stock parts.

any parts would be appreciated ,im happy to pay the postage or will discount you on parts you want!

thanks jay

I am VERY interested in reducing weight. Please keep me informed and I may be willing to pay for lighter parts along with yourself.

Are you considering new plastic lenses for the headlight glass ? How about a lighter bonnet catch ?

WHY would you want to paint it! Surely the point of having a carbon fibre bonnet is that everybody sees it.

Still want one though, so keep me posted.

Cheers

Ian

J going to post you an engine mate wink.gif

The car should then be about the weight of a Scooby LOL biggrin.gif.

Hi Jay,

This sounds good.

Parts that would be worth making in carbon fibre to reduce weight significantly would be the tailgate, and bonnet.

If someone wants the bonet sprayed, they would be better off getting an aluminum bonnet made up. This is what Nissan did with the Skyline, bonnet, and wings.

Dont know how much it would be though.

Nope Andy, it is actually aloominum.

Bonnet is already aluminium, well a genuine one is anyway. I've heard of some nasty spurious steel bonnets before though...get a magnet & check.

Two things that REALLY need making in C/F are the doors!! Has anyone ever took one off and lifted it??? Quite heavy x2. In the worst place for weight too, the extreme sides of the car.

Easy peasy! LOL wink.gif

Hope this helps.

Robert.

I only use the brakes so I can accelerate all over again.
