well to sum it up, its going to be a small Aston martin lol

nice interesting fact about Toyota though

The name “Toyoda” became Toyota after a Japanese designer left two lines out of the design in order to use eight “lucky” brush strokes

I have not read all the story but I thought that you got given that car when you buy the top model aston as they are being good to the environment or something like that.

city car is the sales speech. I think the margue has gone down hill doing that, what next a 1.0 lambo.

From what i know you have to already own an aston martin to purchase one and they go from 20-30k depending on the spec.

It's aston martin's attempt to reduce it's average co2 output over it's range cheeky sods

good idea really..........they have realsied that they need to cater for everybody on the market. I imagine these will be snapped up buy those type of people who think they are royalty etc mo its a good idea and i think aston will sell plenty.

Blimey, that's an old article.

More recent update: The Aston Martin Cygnet (based on Toyota iQ) will cost in the region of £50k and will initially only be offered to current Aston Martin owners. Although it is being "marketed" as a city car the concensus is that it is indeed AM's way of reducing the overall CO2 figure for their entire range as per the EU directive. I think you'll see a lot more "prestige" marques bringing our these types of cars.

Having said the above, there is a chap with a Toyota iQ who lives around the corner from me and it's a cracking looking little car - much more interesting than say a Smart. The alterations that AM have made to the exterior of the car will probably make it look the part (more so than the Toyota) but I really can't see it being worth £50k!

My 2p worth. ;)

Think it's a bad idea myself. not only does it look Shite, it'll take Aston out of the Prestige range a little if you ask me. You dont see Ferrari, Lambo, etc making a crappy little car. :(

If I was minted and buying myself a nice new Aston, I'd probably pick one of those up for the Wife/Daughter. Funky looking baby aston for people who can spash the cash.

Why would any sane individual pay more than £10k for this type of car? That's £10k if it's an Aston, £6k if it's a Toyota.

They obviously know there are plenty of idiots around...
