can i fix a Broken DET sensor or is it a replacement job? i thought about bypass but don't think its worth the hassle of further damage :(

whats the best solution? track a used one from a broken zed?

Its either a relocation or engine out to replace. I wouldnt bother with a second hand one.

Doing the bypass stops the error code, but as you say can hide an underlying problem, which could cause further damage. Disconnect totally will give a means setting.

If you do a search on det sensor, there is plenty of threads.

i would rather not bypass it but £180 for a new sensor seems a joke!...

is there anyway it could be the loom and that i may be able to repair/clean it?

Bypass is perfectly acceptable in my opinion, the det sensor has limited use anyway.

but anyway....its more often than not a problem with the loom/connectors rather than the det sensor itself. If your lucky its a corrosion problem with the connector that joins the loom to the sensor and the loom to the ecu. Its located at the rear, centre of the plenum. Has 2 wires going in and 1 wire going out.

Its not an engine out job to replace, but you have to remove the upper and lower plenums to get to it.

No point relocating. Nissan put it where it is for a reason.
