just bought a few bits for my metal polishing task up ahead.

 

when the sandpaper is refered to wet and dry, does wet mean the way its made or is it that it is asking me to add water to the sandpaper?

 

the reason is i am following a guide for polishing the plenum and not sure what wet sandpaper means, the guide also says the plenum must be wet whihc leads me to believe i have to apply water myself for wet sandpaper?

 

can anyone in the know advise?

wet and dry is not sand paper mate it is black coloured paper with diferent grits which you wet when you use it

It helps if you put some washing up liquid in the water.

talking of sand paper, where do people get their higher grade stuff? i can only seem to find the low 100's and that's too coarse for what i need.

Most motor factors will sell it.

halfrauds do it up to 1500 grit.
