I`ve been in Zed heaven for a week.

I`ve just got back from nearly a week in the Lake District, Langdale to be exact and the weather couldn`t have been better, cold frosty mornings and blue sky all day, and the roads were empty :w00t:, I`ve done about 300 miles and loved every minute, got the lid off most days and blew the cobwebs from the vert, stunning scenery and great fast mountain roads!

If your looking at staying in the Lakes, I can highly reccommend, The Langdale Estate!! It`s absolutley mint, right on a fast flowing stream with hotel and spa facilties and great food, 8 of us stayed in Beckside east self catering appartment, all the entertainment system was Bang&Olufsen, with plasma`s everywhere, speakers in the ceiling, an awesome steam room, the whole place was the dogs danglies!!!

I have a petrol whizzer to chop your tin roof off if you want? :tt2:

I reckon this one is going to be a hard trip to organise as TonyB has mentioned it needs to be dry and nice weather, and with the Lakes having its very own weather pattern, its unlikley we are going to have a good day even in the middle of summer.

Why dont we get some names down and a designated month and let the weather dictate the trip date? Long range forcasts are shit and next days forcasts arn`t much good either. so what about for argument sake we said one Sunday in April, if the weather on the Saturday is good and Sunday is looking ok, lets go at the drop of a hat? Is this a crap idea? or should we just plan it and hope for the best?

At the moment the only day`s I cant go is 10th,11th April, May is quite packed as there are a lot of events on

Whatever the outcome I am easy and will go with the flow, as they say :punk:

Good Idea I've not been wrong when I've watched the weather maps and taking a fdlyer on going up there If everyone can do it at short notice that's fine

The route would be Kendal, Windermere, Ambleside, Langdale Valley, Over the passes to Wasdale head, Lunch there and then back via Newbey Bridge That's doable in long day

Can't do today ..... Turbo gone..... Into zedworld on 19th for a week tgo get two fully refurbed and uograded ones on.... don't what that'll do for the power...

Lol, i'm at Zedworld on the 20th for a week - April anyone? lol

With regards to the route it will take careful planning to bear in mind that we get to see the most places, and to take into account some people might be coming a fair way. I hav the luxuary of living near J34 of the M6, so fairly far north and close to all these places.

With regards to tonys route, a door to door run to those places is 132 miles even from mine. Also is there any reason to visit kendal? Busy busy place at the best of times a nightmare to get in an out of lol.

I didn't mean visit Kendal, you just stya on the main road and drive straight past !

The first traffic we would hit will probably be into Windermere and then round the Ambleside one way system, but we don't go all the way round that. Once we turn off for Langdale traffic should be light.

The only problem I can see is that we'll meet cars coming the other way over the passes but that usuall sorts itself out with all the passing places there are. I've not had problems in the past even when I was in that convoy with the TVR, BM and Porche

Speeds are generally very low so no problems if you're paying attention and the other drivers are as well
