OBD2 Connector kits to make a diag cable

Anyone ever sourced an OBD2 Connector for plugging into vehicles. I need an adaptor cable that goes from 8 pin (connector I already have) to 16 pin male OBD2, its only 6 wires but my friends at Volvo Trucks wwant £122 + VAT so I reacon I can make it for pennies. Anyone ever sourced this? I went to RS components and they were like wtf is that never seen it.

    Here are some pics of the connector at one end and of the complete cable, Have just paid £177 for the earlier one of the 3, I have the 1st one, just got caught out today with this one as I dont have it but can borrow it.

     

    I am not sure of the terminology, would I be right in saying its OBD2?
