just changed over cars and have a '52 diesel 106 zest pug but........fuel gauge is not working, filled it and still says empty with light on. So I have reset the trip counter and was gonna fill it every 300 miles. I'm guessing it should be good for that easy? anyone got a more acurate figure for a tank?

That's the thing not sure how much was already in there I put ยฃ38 as it said empty but still said it when full. I'll go have a look at tank capacity for it.

'tis a bit of a come down from the zed but should be able to save a bit of cash, sort my finances out and get a few unfinished jobs done around the garage and garden

Here is the review but it wrote in 2001 so fuel prices will have gone up but the mpg will still be the same

Advantages: Very economical, cute, more spacious than you'd expect

ย

Disadvantages: offset pedals, heavy steering , small pedal area

ย

The Peugeot 106 Zest 2 when fitted with the 1.5 litre diesel engine is a very economical car to own and run, it can go for 600 miles on a tank of diesel costing ยฃ32 to fill it to the brim! The fuel economy has ranged from 53 to 63 mpg, with all manner of driving styles (90mph runs on the motorway to town driving). It will comfortably hold 90mph on the motorway, only struggling a bit on the hills when it drops down to 80 or so, which is still pretty impressive!

ย

Downsides: small and cramped pedal area (but I have got size 10 feet) so I have to carefully choose which shoes to wear, and avoid hitting the brake and accelerator at the same time. I also find the offset of the pedals can strain my back on long journeys, but for general driving it is very comfortable. I would try and go for power steering if you can on the diesel model, as the front end is quite heavy.

ย

Advantages: cute and compact design; you can fit more inside than you expect; good handling; nice feel to the controls

ย

I would recommend this car to the young lady about town, as they have the french chic that a lot of other cars don't have.
