Hi,

i'm thinking of learning the guitar and have narrowed it down to one. Its the Behringer iAXE USB Guitar

See http://www.behringer.com/EN/Products/IAXE393.aspx

its USB interface to the PC is very interesting, I'm just learning so i dont need a fender strat or a Joe Santrani model.

Any advice would be helpful

Oh it goes for around £80

Hi guys. I used to play guitar when i was younger.......Wondering if you guys have any tips info...anything that would help me get going again. Basically best off starting at beginner. Try to find a tutor is quite hard these days.

Its good having a one to one with a tutor, but to start with either get some chord books, to learn the shapes etc or from the internet, there are loads of sites that will help.

Also depends what type of music you are into, to a direction you might start with.

Eg when i was 11/12 i listened and learnt all the shadows tunes, first the chords then the melody, all by ear, had a few lessons at school then a year later had professional lessons for about 3 months, then its a case of learn your own technique and go from there. You never stop learning, just last night, i learnt the Eric Johnson track "cliffs of dover" just for a bit of inspiration lol

i was right into hank marvin when i was y ounger, was really good at palying it aswell. But being young i never wanted to keep practising so i stopped and played football all the time instead.lol.

I played football aswell at school, did really well till i went up to high school, when the team was already picked, so concentrated on guitar instead.

I practiced day and night when younger

i have started lessons had 6 so far to learn how to play and i download power tabs to play in between lessons im half way through black sabbeth's paraniod, learnt all apologies by nirvana and man who stole the world plus a bit of the end by the doors. enjoying playing the guitar alot

lol.

I didn play football when i was younger, was only as i went into high school i started. Didnt take me long to be good at it then i got trials at greenock morton. But then the oil rigs job caem up and well went for that.

So think on having a wee bash at the guitar again, do any you guys have learning beginner books your willing to sell on?

There are some great tutorials on you tube, just type in what you want and its pretty much there. Great for scales also, slow and the correct tempo.

Here is a chord chart to get you started
