ive just searched for the latest avg download and found it on a site, it is offering a free windows computer scanner, i just wondered if anyone has done it or should i not install it

Only download from AVG's own site or from CNET (AVG use them anyway)

Personally I've found AVG to be power hungry and sometimes fails to work for no reason, I'm now using Avast ... http://www.avast.com/free-antivirus-download

Yeah it'll probably tell you that you're either infected (your PC, not yourself ;) ) or you have missing drivers (or both) of which they can sort out (for a fee!)..... Don't bother it's not worth it.

 

Why do you think you need a PC scan?

Yeah only download avg it self, or if you just want to see if your pc is infected you can do free scans on the bit defender web site>

it just offered a pc scan so thought i would do it, never bothered in the end, am dowloading avg 9.0 free edition
