Hey folks im after a few tips on threading wires from the inside of the car through the rubber insulator that goes into the doors as ive got some jap spec mirrors that im going to wire in on a switch for the folding motion. Ive looked at the doors already and it looks pretty tight so just wanted to get some advice cheers

Hi Mate, i found the best way is to pull the top rubber grommit part of the tube out of the door jam, use either a wire coathanger cut and straightened as a pull through or wire from some twin and earth cable, as its pliable but thick enough to be pushed. You need to be careful with the wire not to push too hard as it will pierce the rubber.

I use a fibre optic cable which is 5mm thick so wont peirce or damage any wires while going through.

You could also pull the grommit part of the bottom of the tube where it enters the door, nothing too hard to do though.

HTH

pull rubber out at either end, squirt a bit of wd40 in then a pull through cord will easily go through.

normally takes me less than 5 mins to get wires from door into car
