Howdy chaps, I thought my daily driver was ready to die on me because the oil filler cap is popping off when the engine is running...I lost it briefly when the bonnet was up, took me 5 mins to find it on the pavement up the road!!

Anyway its just dawned on me that I chucked some oil in it a couple of weeks ago and haven't really used it since then due to the snow, I'm now thinking that I've put too much oil in :stupid:

I've checked the level and it is sitting right on the max, it must have been above this because some spilled over engine bay when I was driving it.

I'm thinking that I may have blocked the breather pipes, will releasing some oil clear these or will I have to remove them to clear them/replace them as well as draining some oil?

Cheers in advance for any response.

Cheers mate, I checked the level yesterday and it is right on the max but not above, I'll try to get the pipes off to clear them out tonight then.

Cheers

I was thinking that it was the engine saying goodbye (the car has done 130k and as far as I know it is the original engine) but then remembered about adding the oil so I'm hoping its just that, prob be the weekend before I get round to checking the breather pipes for blockages so fingers crossed :sweatdrop:
