Anybody help me here ?

Laptop is a Dell Inspiron 6000, and it took a wee bit of a knock a while back and the screen went blank.

Screen still lights up when switched on but just a dull white, no black with the Bios or nothing.

Is it deffo the screen or could it be the Invertor that works the screen ?

Any way to test ? New screen aint that expensive, but dont wanna buy a screen and then it turns out to be a convertor at a few quid !

Been using it for months now with a spare monitor and bar the screen, it works great, see pic.

Cheers,

When it took the knock it is possible something has came unplugged I suppose ? Good call mate, will remove the screen bezel and have a look see !

white screen means the inverter is working but the lcd is getting no data signal, as suggested check the connector at the back of the lcd and also under the keyboard strip cover, does it work ok on an external vga monitor?

Had it all in bits today, nothing un-plugged, broken or untowards.

Works as it should using a spare monitor, via the cable.

New screen time ?
