windaz vista question ????

I want to get windaz 7 64 bit for my big rig. I have a 32 bit ver of vista on at moment that I want to put onto my sons pc. Will mr Gates allow me to do this (I don't mind phoning them to do whatever) or will he tell me to bugger off and throw vista away because it's non transferable?

If you are buying a full version of Windows 7 and not an upgrade, in theory you can. It will depend if the version you are using at the moment is an OEM version or not. If it is an OEM version, it is licensed to that manufacturer and the code may not work on another manufacturers machine.

The label with the Vista license key on it willsay if it is OEM or not.

it's a retail one I bought about a year ago for one of my builds with all the sparklie holgram stuff on it. It will be the full ver windaz 7 64 bit not an upgrade as I'm going from a 32bit o/s to a 64 bit so non upgradable

If Vista was not included with the PC then you will be able to move the license to another PC then without any problems.
