its sounding like a possible virus thats lerking about in ya system, id say try a full system wipe , new install, save ya files etc and then try that , if that wont fix it then let me know,

Ex computer consultant

hench virus.exe

or run your virus scanner that you have if any on your system , once a virus is in your system depending on what type etc most scanner wont get rid of them completely and before anyone ask norton anti-virus is a massive resource hog and wouldnt recomend it on any system

reason I asked as I've known bootleg install's(once updates are enabled) internet connections to become corrupt as mr virus stated if in doubt wipe the slate and re install windows

download it , install it , run it , after it done that tell me what comes up, which im kinda guessing will be shat loads of dodgy stuff, using limewire etc incresses the risk of getting virus's as you dont no what your downloading etc. ie a lot of people will put virus's in common most downloaded music tracks, and porn seem to be the worst hit ( not saying you have just stating)

I never used an antiviral 'til about 18 months ago(just getting that can't be arsed reformatting unless I really have to)

if your not sure how to do a complete reinstal windows , what version your got and do you have the cd rom for it

The How to Guide

insert the Windows CD that came with your PC, and reboot your system. If you didn't receive a Windows disc with your machine, the files you need are sitting in a hidden partition on your hard drive. To access them, press the keys indicated on your screen when you reboot, but before Windows loads. The keys differ from vendor to vendor, so contact your PC's manufacturer if you don't see the prompt.

In many instances, the only available option is 'Return the drive to its factory condition', which destroys all documents, photos, and other data files on your PC. That's why you made a copy of your data folders.

You get more options--including the ability to preserve your files and settings--when you use Microsoft's own Windows XP installation disc. Make your selection, and follow the on-screen prompts to complete the reinstallation.

Id suggest you fully wipe the system .

Dont save nothing unless its something you worked on , ie a word doc or something , as virus's can embed into random files and be transferd even though the system has been wiped , which in turn will re infect your system , just be careful, once thats done it will restart etc and ask you to pick your time and shat , once thats all done and get to desktop , (hopefully all your drivers will be there - thats another story , if you have any problems with hardware let me know)

Once you get to your desktop you need to update your system , no doubt if your using xp or vista you will need to check for updates etc. once thats done ,

your system will be in working order,

if you using ntl ( which is virgin) then you may need to instal you inet files before you get online, make sure you rember your password and email before you do this
